Blog Delay/Tossk Shout-out

Relevart has to shape the minds of the future (now that is scary) and so he will not be posting anything for this week as he has to run analysis on the final exams. Hopefully he will have something interesting to write next week (I'm not holding my breath though)!

On a side note, Relevart took this quiz for giggles:

Try it yourself!

Also, Toskk is interested in game design. Many of you might know Toskk as an active druid in the feral world, as he has put out some great ideas about feral gearing and things such as that. Please go support his latest project focusing on the Educational Psychology behind gaming. He is going to ask you to take a survey about your own experiences with the game. And well, here is what he has to say about it...

Well, it's totally off-topic for this forum, but I thought I'd describe my latest WoW project here, with the hopes that a few Druids would be willing to give the survey a test-run and provide some feedback on it. :)

As some here probably know, I'm actually even more interested in game design than I am feral druid mechanics. In particular, I'm interested in pushing the boundaries of video games by applying Educational Psychology and theories about how learning happens to 'entertainment' video game design.

I'm hoping to launch a new page/blog/discussion board (probably here on the Druid Wiki for lack of a better place to host it) all about game design and WoW in the next few weeks, and the first project for that is a survey designed to look at just how effective of a learning environment World of Warcraft (and hopefully eventually other mmo's) is.

I'd love to be able to eventually collect several thousand responses to the survey, to give a really good set of data on the strengths and weaknesses of the learning environment present in WoW. I'll be posting it in more visible locations soon, but in the meantime I'd appreciate it if any of the Druids here would give it a try. :) The survey can be found on surveymonkey here:

Thanks again to all those who have supported this wiki and the feral project.. and just to stem any fears, that's not over. ;) I've got a new version of the model cooking already ;)

Toskk

Being a teacher, I would love to see him making some progress with this research.

Also, thanks to Obsequies for the guest post about what I've got going on. I'm posting this from work while I wait for more final results. I hope O doesn't see that I posted or I'm going to get in some trouble!

A Sad Day - A New Spreadsheet

Today is a sad day as Karthis, of my original home server, Garona, will be hanging up his claws. It seems the game has lost it's pull for him. I will miss perusing his blog for some great feral information.

Good luck, Karthis, and as always, may Nature guide your Path!

In other news, Graylo has pumped out a very nice excel spreadsheet for modeling purposes. I'm gonna link his post, and not the spreadsheet so that you can understand what it is and what its purpose is.

Moonkin Stats and Graylo's New Model

There will be a series of blogs coming shortly that deal with the theoretical damage of both eclipse cycles, some interesting thoughts (hopefully) on DoT uptime, and other such rotation based musings. See you soon!

DOUBLE EDIT: I updated the spreadsheet, took out all of the separate gear lists, cleaned up the interface a little bit, double-checked some of my pointers and feel a lot better about it as a whole.

Download it here!

If you're interested in helping make the spreadsheet better, leave me a message with gear you think I'm missing. I'm no good at crawlers or automation so I'm doing most of this by hand and I'm sure I've missed bits and pieces.
