TMR Contest

The Moonkin Repository is having a contest!
This time we are having a MOONKIN MOTIVATIONAL-STYLE poster competition (sometimes also known as 'de-motivational posters'). If you are not sure what the motivational poster meme is, well, then you have probably have never heard of the internet either. But if there really is someone out there who has not, google 'motivational posters' and you will get the idea (and probably have a good laugh, too). Here are a couple of links to some to get you started:

http://www.marcofolio.net/imagedump/top_40_demotivational_posters.html
http://tackyraccoons.com/2009/06/18/amys-motivational-poster-collection/

There are thousands more out there.

This is the first in a series of monthly/bi-monthly screenshot competitions that we will be hosting.

This time the rules are simple. Make the funniest motivational-style poster you can, that is related to Moonkin. You may enter as many times as you like. Your graphics can be anything you like (live action, in-game screen capture, animated or whatever). You can even make the poster an animated gif if you really want. Nothing TOO offensive please, or we will not be able to post it (if you have an idea and you are not sure it is suitable, PM me on the forums and ask before you put work into it).

FORMAT

Format guidelines for the poster are as follows:

600x480 pixels

Tagline 1: 60 pt, all caps, Times New Roman
Tagline 2: 18 pt, not all caps, Arial

See the template file at the bottom of this post. Feel free to use it.

COMPETITION DATES

Entries are open NOW.

Entries close on October 31st

PRIZES

Prizes are limited this time around (sorry, we are all broke right now).

The winner will get the choice of one in-game toy from WootLoot.com chosen from the list below:

Sandbox Tiger
Paper Flying Machine Kit
Picnic Basket
Goblin Gumbo

The runner up will get an in-game epic tabard from the wow-trading cards chosen from the tabards found on this page (ignore the first two items):

http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/points/store/c-9-wow-in-game-codes.aspx

Both will also recieve custom titles on the forums, and bragging rights.

All entrants for each compeition will have their entries be hosted on our website's gallery permanently.

Judging will be open to all registered users of http://www.themoonkinrepository.com and will take place from November 1st to November 8th. Each user will be able to nominate their favorite entry via a website poll.

The winner and runners up will be announced on the 8th-9th of November both on the wowforums and The Moonkin Repository forums.

METHODS OF SUBMISSION

You have the following entry options:

a) If you are a member or http://www.themoonkinrepository.com (or you become one, it is free and takes sixty seconds), then post your entry right here (as in, reply to this thread with your submission attached).

b) If you do not want to register on the website, you can still enter, but you will have to email your entry to me at,

tsbryon at gmail dot com

You must include your alias you want to be known by, also. You can post it on the wowforums for fun, too, if you like, but you still MUST email it to me because otherwise I have no way of contacting you if you win.

c) If you are a member of http://www.themoonkinrepository.com but do not want people to see your entry because it is super secret and great, email your entry to me at,

tsbryon at gmail dot com

In this case I will post your entry only once judging begins.

MISC. DETAILS

Entries should be in a standard compressed image format (jpg, png or gif, please) and no larger than 1MB (smaller is better, we are not grading you on your DPI!).

Entrants are not required to register on the forums, but we encourage you too, so people can congratulate you on your work of art.

So get your creative juices flowing and see what scathingly dry, dark or sarcastic humor you can muster up for us.

Now for the promotion portion. The TMR needs your help sponsoring the contest. As listed above, some prizes are available but they would like to offer larger incentives to competitors. Below you will find a donation link that will allow you to donate to Foofy (from those great moonkin raiding videos as well as Foofy's Cupcake Factory), the one in charge of prizes and contests at the TMR. She's 100% not for profit, turning your donations into bigger and better prizes for all the little chickens in the world. Please donate if you can!
